Asfiya hoard. It was discovered in 1960 in the village of Asfiya in Carmel. It holds 4560 silver coins: 3,400 Tyre Shekels, About 1,000 half-Tyre-shekels and 160 Roman dinars. The shekels and the half-shekels bear dates from 40 BCE to 52/53 AD, with most from the days of Augustus. The Early Roman period.
